He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell MacLaughlin and Carrie MacLaughlin (Hattie); his brothers, Herbie, John and Lloyd; and his siblings-in-law, Louis McKay, Bill Orr, Murray MacDonald, Kent MacDonald, Grant MacDonald, Betty MacDonald, Evelyn MacDonald and Elizabeth MacDonald.

He is survived by: his wife Marion; his children, Janis and Shawn; his daughter-in-law Shona; his pets, Kelly, Logan, Becca and Hemi; his siblings, Beth, Arch, Ernie, Lowell, Arnold, George, Marshall, Florence, Ruth and Louise; and his siblings-in-law, Sandy MacDonald, Graham MacDonald, Barbara MacDonald, Erica MacDonald, Beverly MacLaughlin, Gwen MacLaughlin and Martha MacLaughlin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
