It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Dort (New Glasgow, Nova Scotia), who passed away on November 8, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Douglas Dort to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Omer Dort and Anna Dort (Ryan); his sister Peggy Hayman; and his in-laws, John and Kay MacKay (Polson).

He is survived by: his wife Isabelle Dort (MacKay); his daughters, Susan Kingsbury (Philip) and Laurie Partington (Mark); his granddaughters, Amy and Clare Partington; his sister Beverly Sinclair; his nieces and nephews, Calvin Hayman (Sherri Campbell), Pam MacGillivray (Kurtis), Jill Wier (Devin) and Matthew Sinclair; and his brothers-in-law, Berk Hayman (Chris) and Donnie MacKay (Christine).

Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit c/o Aberdeen Health Foundation (https://aberdeenhealthfoundation.ca) or a Pictou County-based charity of your choice.
