She was predeceased by: her parents, Jennie Chisholm (McDonald) and Donald William Chisholm; her husband Justice Hugh J. MacDonnell; her children, Duncan and Theresa Anne Hannaford; and her siblings, Catherine Walsh, Anne Messer, Anita Campbell and John.
She is survived by: her children, Joan (Steve Dunsiger), Mary-Claire (John MacMillan), Anita (Rick Erickson), Banff, Janice (Algis Grajauskas), Helen (Bernie Miller), John (Sherri MacDonald) and Philip (Carolyn Morey); and her sister-in-law Helen Chisholm (Floyd). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
On her 83rd birthday she shared a runway with three Olympic medalists and other notable Canadian women as a Model of Health for the Heart and Stroke Foundation during Toronto Fashion Week.
