She was predeceased by: her father Richard Gallant; her former husband Fred Wheaton; her daughter Patricia Flemming; and her siblings, Estella Veinot (Teddy), Mary Akins (Fred), Marjorie Corkum (Herold), Richard Gallant (Patricia) and Leonard Gallant (Reiko).

She is survived by: her husband Owen Zinck; her son Edwin Wheaton (Natalie); her stepchildren, Shelly Ozon (Shawn) and Carl Zinck; her grandchildren, Sarah Fancy (Mark), Ryan Fancy (Crystal), Karson (Karli) and Natalie Zinck; and her great grandchildren, Sophia and Madison Brittan.

Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, The Kidney Foundation of Canada, The Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of choice.
