He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Russell and Vera Russell (Woodworth); his wife Leola; and his siblings, Max and Eveline.

He is survived by: his children, Donald (Marjorie), Hemford, Gordon (Beverley) and Barbara Simpsons Corner (Arthur); his brother Edgar; his grandchildren, Julie (Steve), Jason, Wanda (Mark) and David (Stacey); and his great grandchildren, Dylan, Kyle, Spencer and Owen. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
