He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick John and Cora Ella Hunt (Jennings); his wife Isabel (Alchorn); his children, Wayne "Corky", James "Jim", Robert "Bobby" and Wendy (Cleveland); his grandson Michael Irving; and his siblings, Fred, James, Percy, Charles, John, Florence, Ella, Dorothy, Anna, Mary and Grace.

He is survived by: his children, Marilyn, Donna Dartmouth (Alex Murray) and Gary Hare (Jessica); his sister Lila Maxwell (Hunt); and his son-in-law Wayne Cleveland. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
