With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Violet Catherine MacGillivary of Monastery, Nova Scotia, born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 10, 2024. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Simms and Margaret MacGillivary; her son Kevin; and her brothers, Raymond and Sandy.

She is survived by: her boyfriend Winston Delorey; her daughter Frances Holmes (Chester); her grandchildren, Tyler, Trevor and Natasha; her great grandchildren, Autumn, Grayson, Cohen and Caden; and her brother John Simms (Jean).
