He was predeceased by: his parent Roy Devine; his brother Bob; his sister-in-law Lois; and his daughter-in-law Kim Paterson. He is survived by: his parent Pauline Devine (Lent); his wife Joyce; his sons, Robert Ont (Cathi), Eric Ont of Lantz, Kevin Ont and London Ont; his siblings, Ken Yarmouth (Judy), Dave Burlington (Jane), Pat Mercer Brantford (Bruce) and Cathy Posta (Paul); and his grandchildren, Jamie (Amanda), Sam, Cassie, Olivia, Mindy and Jake.
