He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin McLaughlin and Doris McLaughlin (Stevenson); and his siblings, Graham, Gail and Lee.

He is survived by: his wife Olive (Illsley); his daughters, Catherine McLaughlin, Kelly Banks (Glenn) and Forest Glade; his granddaughters, Stefanie Banks and Shelby Banks; and his siblings, Audrey Spidle (Gordon), Dean (Audrey), Lethbridge, Eric (Wenda) and Margaretsville.
