She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Elizabeth Watts (Merritt) of Sandy Cove, NS and Donald McIntosh Watts of Port Hood, NS.. She is survived by: her husband Frank; her children, Robert (Laura), Gregory (Stacey) and Frances (Craig); and her grandchildren, Mason, Mac Sawler, Claire and Rachel Bryant.

Joan hosted them over the years and cherished these friendships, missing them dearly when the pandemic halted home gatherings.
