He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Morrison (Cross); his parents, Angus Morrison and Violet Morrison; and his father-in-law Herb Miller. He is survived by: his siblings, Cliff Morrison (Julie), Rod Morrison (Joyce) and Sharon Hignite (Glenn); his children, Christine Chute (David), Ian Morrison, Leah Morrison, Clarence and Gregory Morrison (Sherry); his grandchildren, Ryan Werner (Nicole), Lindsay Clark (Rob), Travis Werner (Maggie), Jason Morrison (Terri), Alberta, Corey Morrison (Gillian), Mount Hanley, Michael Morrison, Katie Chute, Kyle Chute (Morgan) and Clarence; his great grandchildren, Owen, Maggie, Lucas, Gemma, Rhys, Landon, Myah, Jack and Baby Chute; and his friend Evelyn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Gil was very proud of the volunteer work he did with Heart and Stroke Foundation. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation.
