He was predeceased by: his father Donald L. Weir; and his brother Dan Weir. He is survived by: his mother Ruth L. Weir (McCormack); his pet Lucho; his friend Kathy Corbin; his children, Nicholas "Nick" and Megan Weir; the mother of his children Debra Young of Sherwood Park, Alta; his sister Susan Connell (late Peter); and his sister-in-law Wanda Weir of Moncton, N. B.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to Canadian National Institute for the Blind or Morristown Baptist Church.
