He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Daniel (Frank) and Catherine Hanora Burke (McGirr); his wife Elizabeth (Betty); his siblings, Robert (Sandy), Carl and Sharran Ashley; and his brother-in-law Wane Adams.
He is survived by: his pet Shylo; his children, Sherry Cheek (Terry) of Hopewell, Gerard Burke (Angela) of Middleton and Shane Burke (Dana) of Bethlehem, PA; his grandchildren, Dylan (Kendal), Oliver, Eden, Erin, Erica, Riley and Liam; his siblings, Brenda MacDonald (Roddie) of James River, Marian MacDonald (Danny) of Brierly Brook, Carol Richard (Neil) of Cole Harbour, John of Avondale and Kevin (Bonnie) of Antigonish; and his siblings-in-law, Art Ashley of Marshdale, Carl Adams of Ontario and Patricia Stevenson (Ken). He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
