He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlie Hatt and Ina Hatt (Milner); his wife Grace; his daughter Karen; his close friend Jessie Cloutier; and his siblings, Marjorie Whynott, Vivian Spicer, Freda Lashinsky, Morley Hatt and Arnold Hatt.
He is survived by: his children, Shelley Burns (Rick Ward) and Thomas Hatt; his sister Heather MacDougall (Bob); his grandchildren, Nicole Burns (Russell Gillis), Inglisville, Jason Burns, Alberta, Natalie Comeau (Chris), Kingston and Shanara Hatt; his great grandchildren, Alexis Burns and Wyatt Gillis; his stepgrandchildren, Kyla and Jaylynn Gillis; his extended family Serena Cloutier (Martin); and also, Myles, Ryan (Morgan), Jordan (Emma) and Eric. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
