He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Mahar and Laura Mahar (Gould); his daughter Rhea Dawn Mahar; his siblings, Margaret, Daniel, Paul and Allison; and his close friend Joan Currie.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin (Barbara) and Stephanie (Steven); his siblings, Martha McKenzie of Winnipeg, MB, Thomas (Mae) of Mississauga, ON, Vernon Morden (Phyllis), Pat (Joanne), Burlington and Michael; and his grandchildren, Shauna Daniels, Timothy Simon, Molly Tomlik, Denelle Grimes and Jesse Moore. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
