She was predeceased by: her parent Howard Harris; and her former husband Carl Cooke. She is survived by: her parent Marjorie Harris (Ellis); her husband Albert; her children, Cindy Gordon (Don) of Calgary, Randy Merigomish (Skye), Chris Merigomish (Linda), Ottawa Merigomish and Jim Merigomish (Amanda); her grandchildren, Chloe of Julia, Joelle, Luke, Chandler, Jacob, Chase and Ben; and her sisters-in-law, Susan Harris, Betty Fulton and Dorothy Margeson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family flowers only, donations may be made in Joan's memory to Riverview Cemetery, Merigomish or a charity of choice.
