He was predeceased by: his parents, Elvin Burnell and May Evelyn Nauss (Sawler); and his sister Sylvia Atkinson (William). He is survived by: his wife Melvina of Mahone Bay; his children, Colleen Fraser (Gary) of Spectacle Lakes and Dwayne Nauss (Sarah) of Calgary, AB; and his grandchildren, Nicholas, Tammy, Samantha, Rebecca and Olivia.

The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or to any other Chairty in Reid's Honour.
