The memory of Donald Everett Oakes of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, who passed away on March 4, 2025 at the age of 88, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Oakes and Syble Oakes; his former wife Elizabeth; his siblings, Margaret, Norma, George, Filmore and Richard; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Millett.

He is survived by: his wife Libby; his son Kevin Oakes (Lillian) of Dartmouth; his grandson Craig Oakes (Angela) of Dartmouth; his great grandchildren, Taylor and Aubrey; and his sister Joan Veinotte of Mahone Bay. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to a charity of choice.
