He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dunlop and Henrietta Dunlop (Munro); his wife Barb Dunlop (McKinnon); and his siblings, Jean, Isobel, Marjorie, Ruth, David, Robert, Girvan, Donald (Monk), John, Earl, Eldon and Harry.

He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Dunlop (Scott McKee) and Darcy Dunlop (Randy Hunter); his stepchildren, Karen Gabriel (Paul) and Michael Farrow; his grandchildren, Kristopher, Justin, Nicholas (Amanda), Becky (Devon), Michaela, Amanda and Maddie; his great grandchildren, Lily, Steven and Freddy; and his close friends, George Simmonds and Everett Delahunt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.
