He was predeceased by: his parents, Basil Parsons and Marilyn Parsons (Kempster). He is survived by: his children, Nicholas MacDonald (Kayla Miller), Christa MacDonald (Justin Wark), Lacey MacDonald (Adam Crowley), Jackie Chapman (Barbara Harvey) and Alex Parsons; his sibling Kim Parsons; his nieces and nephews, Dustin, Cody and Sammi-Jo; his brother Bill Parsons; his nieces and nephews, Travis, Rea and Donna; his godson Sean Grant; and his wife Michelle Parsons. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the A. H. Brown Funeral Home (5 McFarlane St, Springhill, NS B0M1X0).

Donations in memory of Marty can be made to KidSport Nova Scotia.
