He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harold J. Hannaford of Montreal and Marjorie Davie Hannaford of Quebec City; his wife Barbara Hannaford; his daughters, Lisa Hannaford-Stacey and Jill Hannaford; his stepchildren, Heather Brick, Jayne Howatson and Alex Howatson; his grandchildren, Taylor, Sara Glass, Oliver and Susanna Beaudin; and his stepgrandchildren, Michael and Sarah Brick.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Fishermen's Memorial Hospital or the Veteran's Unit of Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.
