He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas A. Himmelman and Lois J. Himmelman (Ritcey); his wife Elizabeth (Betty Mailman); his siblings, Bruce, Donald, Edgar and Jane (Stan Gibson); and his granddaughter Jenna Himmelman.
He is survived by: his cousins, Barry and Ray; his close friend Louise Strickland; his children, Hans (Dani Sue), Tom (Wendy), Bedford and Jan (Bedford); his grandchildren, Stephanie Logan (Kevin), Kristyn Dearn (Kyle), Julie Kraus (Scott) and Austin; his great grandchildren, Miel, Aiya, Anna, Greta, Phoebe and Henrick; his nieces, Lois, Leslee and Lynn; and his nephew Bill.
Memorial donations in Doug's memory may be made to the HMCS SACKVILLE TRUST in Halifax, Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, the VON or any charity of choice.
