He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Tanner and Annie Tanner (Richards); and his siblings, Hazel, Rita, Pauline, Lucille, Letoil, Wilson, Cecil and Percy.
He is survived by: his wife Clare Jane; his sons, Gary (Carolyn Lee Crouse) and Brian (Carolyn Faye Savory); his grandchildren, Kevin, Jan and Trevor; and his great grandchildren, Lucas, Ethan and Aidyn.
