She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. William K. and Mildred MacKay (Akerley); her husband Ross; and her siblings, Donald and Eileen MacKay.
She is survived by: her children, Alison MacDonald (Ira) and James Johnston (Cathy); her grandchildren, Laura Johnston-Selig (Joel), Kyle Johnston, Ross MacDonald (Brittany Wong) and Christina MacDonald; her great grandchild Lillian Johnston-Selig; her nieces and nephews, Bill MacKay of Gloucester, ON, Bruce MacKay (Julie Martin), Kathleen Hamilton (Al) and Stittsville; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jennifer, Scott Hamilton, Torie Fortin-MacKay and David MacKay; and her nephew Breton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central United Church, Lunenburg, Dr. Arthur Patterson Centre for Restorative Care, Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, S.H.A.I.D.Tree.
