She was predeceased by: her parents, Roddy Taylor and Edith Taylor; her husband John M. Mellanby; and her brother Keith Taylor. She is survived by: her children, Jon Mellanby (Paula) and Jess Mellanby (Curtis); her granddaughters, Ryley Strangward (Reilly) and Brooke Mellanby (Jacob); her great grandchildren, Leta and Myles; and her sisters, Meg Gill and Judith Joslin.

In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation in Susan's name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
