She was predeceased by: her parents, Avery Sanford and Lilla Sanford (Haynes); her spouse G. Royce Hefler; her son Dana Laverne Hefler; and her siblings, Vernon, Aubrey Chute, Avery, Lloyd Sanford, Marion Rockwell, Eileen, Margaret and Doris Sanford.

She is survived by: her children, Camilla Kynock of Middle Sackville, Lexine Mack (Kevin) of Middle Sackville, Kim Hefler of Middle Sackville, Tara Hefler (Donald Ganong) of Middle Sackville and Staffie Sanford (Cathleen Veinot) of Aylesford; her grandchildren, Connie Savoie (Dave), Shawn Sanford (Amanda), Brendon, Shane Briggs, Joette Emerton (Robby), Zeth Brooks (Brandy), Carley, Tyler Kynock (Ashley), Dorinda Riley (Matthew) and Joshua Hiltz (Sarah); her great grandchildren, Merisa Lee Skinner (Jarred), Liam Briggs (Maddie), Kyla McLellan, Maren Briggs, Charlie, Pierce, Jhett, Tirzah Hiltz, Abbie Riley, Judah Titus, Jordynn and Jett Kynock; her great great grandchild Jack Skinner; and her sisters, Lilla White, Doreen Healey and Eveleen Whynot.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Edith can be made to Hospice Halifax or Rock Church Missions.
