He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Schrader and Violet R. Schrader; his son Jeffrey; and his siblings, Alfred, David, Robert, Madge, Verna and Carolyn.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Oickle; his children, Jackie Dyson (David), John Oickle (Shelly), Harvey Oickle (Cindy) and Steven Oickle (Karen); his grandchildren, Trevor (Brandy), Darcy (Barbara), Jeremy, Nicole (Steven) and Jacob (Leigh-Ann); his great grandchildren, Chanelle (Matthew) and Fisher; and his great great grandchild Avery. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
