He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Franks and Lena Franks (Thorne); and his sisters, Norma Herring and Florence Whitman (Tom). He is survived by: his brother Charles Franks (late Ella); and his brother-in-law Clifford Herring of Murray River, P. E. I.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
