He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph MacDonald and Florence Catherine MacDonald (MacMaster); his significant other Beverly Jane MacDonald (Hiltz); his daughter Lisa Catherine; and his siblings, Jesse MacDonald (Mary), Lorne, Rufus and Daniel.

He is survived by: his son Scott MacDonald (Glenda); his granddaughter Lindsay (Ryan); his brother Donnie (Irene); his nieces, Denise (Ray) and Dawn; and his nephew Derek.
