He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Carter and Elizabeth Carter (Sampson); and his siblings, Anthony, George, Charlie, Marie, Lida, Robert, Beatrice, Mary and Fin.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Carter (Landry); his children, Melissa (Billy), Ricky (Michelle), Cathy (Gary) and Lauriann (Carl); his grandchildren, Michael (Kayla), CJ (Taylor), Jessica (Craig), Justine, Lindsay and Connor; his great grandchildren, Quinn, Mya, Ophelia and Ellison; and his siblings, Bertha, Lin and Melinda. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and friends.
