She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Giffin and Evangeline Giffin (Baker); her husband Cecil Bateman; her brothers, Wilfred and John Giffin (Maxine); and her sisters-in-law, Thelma, Betty Anne, Maxine and Margaret Anne.
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Tracy Barnes (Bill) of Huntsville, ON and Rick Bateman (Lynda) of Toronto, ON; her brothers, Randolph Giffin, Ron Giffin (Patricia) of Kentville, NS, Edwin Giffin (Marlene) of Cambridge, NS, James Giffin (Jan Howe) of Moncton, NB and Frederick Giffin of Wolfville, NS; her grandchildren, Kirsten Davies (Christopher) and Kuwait; her brothers, Graham Barnes (Kenora Craft) of Barrie, ON and Paul Bateman of Niagara Falls, ON; and her great grandchild Rosie Davies.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Victoria Vale Baptist Church, the Lester and Evangeline Foundation at Acadia University, the Acadia Divinity College or charity of choice.
