He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Holmesdale and Elizabeth Holmesdale (Smith); his son Shawn; his sister Ewayne; and his brothers-in-law, Andy MacKay and Tom Prokopow.
He is survived by: his wife Lynda; his daughter-in-law Ruthanne of Ottawa; his grandchildren, Sarah and Jackson of Ottawa; and his siblings, Randall (Carol), Berwick, Bruce (Elaine), Patricia Lunn (Stephen) of Hantsport and Gayle MacKay of Regina, SK..
