She was predeceased by: her parent James Crowell; and her brother Maynard "Jake". She is survived by: her parent Etta Crowell (Feener); her children, Gordon Fortner (Jacqueline) of Fredericton, NB, Barbara Fortner-Hull (Michael) of Bridgewater, Donna Fortner-Bigelow, Jordan Falls, James "Jim" Fortner (Missy Smyth), North Alton, Kenneth "Ken" Fortner (Beverlee) of Cambridge and David Fortner (Lisa) of South Alton; her siblings, Elaine Crowell (Larry Atwell) of Black Rock, Wolfville of Black Rock, Sherry-Lee Shepherd (David) of Black Rock, Douglas (Celia) and John (Peggy); and her sister-in-law Sylvia Crowell of Hortonville. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Lower Horton Cemetery, the Lower Horton Community Hall, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, the Alzheimer Society or the charity of your choice.
