He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph John Melanson and Dorothy Melanson (Avery); his stepdaughter Shawna Bain; and his brother Dennis "Sonny". He is survived by: his wife Sharon Melanson of Kentville, NS. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
