It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bernice Mae Journeay (Kentville, Nova Scotia), born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, who passed away on January 25, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Richards and Alice Richards (Tucker); her siblings, Roy, Stanley and Blanch Clark (Marcelin); and also, Loretta Journeay (Schnare) and Velma Beazley (Schnare).

She is survived by: her husband Eric Journeay; her children, Doug (Rafael) and Julie (Darcy); her pet Trixie; and her caregiver Lisa-Marie. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to The Valley Hospice Foundation in Kentville, NS, where Bernice received compassionate care in her final days, or to Fidelis House in Kentville, NS, a charity supported by the Black Watch.
