He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen Dan Gillis and Jessie Gillis (Beaton); his brother Sandy; his sister-in-law Marguerite Gillis; his parents-in-law, Ernest Doyle and Catherine Doyle (MacDonald); and his siblings-in-law, Bernard Doyle and Loretta Green (Doyle).
He is survived by: his wife Alice Gillis (Doyle); his children, Alison (Robert Anderson) and James; his siblings, Marie (Joe), Michigan, Lorne, Joyce Gillis (David), Gwen, Joan Cameron (Hugh), Monica MacLennan (John), Blues Mills, Jane, Ernest (Pauline) and Brenda Gillis (Sandy); and his siblings-in-law, Carol, Lloyd Doyle (Yvonne) and Cecila Doyle. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
