He was predeceased by: his son David Neil; his grandson David Francis; his parents, Murdoch and Marcella (MacLean); his brothers, Murdoch Alex (Pat), William and David; and his brother-in-law Dak Kennedy.
He is survived by: his wife Matilda; his children, Brian Port Hood (Marcella), Neil Lower Sackville (Carol), Cathy Beaulieu (Mike) of Fall River and Mary MacDougall (Billy) of Beaverbank; his siblings, Julia MacIsaac of Port, Susie Fitzgerald of Baddeck, Gloria MacKinnon of Deepdale, Patricia Gillis of Inverness, Annie Timmons of Margaree, Nancy MacDougall of Glenville, Alfred, Roland of Belle Cote and Bobby of Margaree; his sister-in-law Lucy; and his stepmother Ella of Margaree. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or to a charity of choice.
