He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Simms and Vivian Simms (Jollimore); his siblings, Julie Dauphinee (Arthur), Carol, Ruth, Mary, Malcolm (Kay), Welsley (Lois), George, Gordon, Ronnie, John, Ruben, Edward and Stanley; and his siblings-in-law, Kay Simms, Lois Simms, Linda Borque, Arthur Dauphinee, Kenny Nelson and Bob Borque.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Simms (Briand); his sons, Scott Simms (Michelle Proctor-Simms) and Dan Simms; his grandchildren, Matthew Simms and Claire Simms; and his siblings-in-law, Terry Pelrine, Brett Wilson, Doris Simms, Jean Simms, Theresa Pelrine, Cathy Nelson and Shelley Wilson. He is also survived by 12 nephews and 13 nieces, and several great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or NS Alzheimer's Society.
