He was predeceased by: his parents, Randolph Munroe (Rennie) and Rita Munroe; and his sister Donna. He is survived by: his wife Cathy (Greencorn); his children, Joanne Munroe (Tom), Melissa Hadley (Greg), Joe Munroe (Jenna) and Christine Paupst (Kyle); his grandchildren, Victoria, Trent, Elizabeth, Alexandra, Thomas, Joshua, Addelyn, Bryson, Lydia and Aubree; his great grandchild Jayce; his siblings, Clem and Cheryl Rutherford (Brian); his brothers-in-law, Lorne, Donnie and Eldon (Wendy); and his mother-in-law Ethel.

Donations in Dale's memory can be made to the Palliative Care Department at St. Martha's Regional Hospital or the Havre Boucher Fire Department.
