He was predeceased by: his parents, James Caleb and Ida May (Lowe); his former wife Sadie (Caldwell); his sons, Robert "Bobby" Hawkesworth, Ronald Tompkins, Gordon Tompkins, James Tompkins and Earl Tompkins; his brothers, James, Lenwood and Albert; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Hodgins and Rennie Leary.
He is survived by: his wife Anna (Crocker); his children, Mary Lee (Robert), Donnie Spicer, Lori Spicer, Adrian Spicer, Grace Tompkins and Edward "Ed" Tompkins; and his siblings, Franklyn (Sylvia), Randolph (Gail), George (Beverly), Janette Gates (Allen), Linda Hodgins, Sarah Veinotte (Rodney) and Mary Jane Leary. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
