He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel McAloney and Reginald LaViolette; and his siblings, Dennis, Donnie, Madeline, Geraldine and Marion "Ducky".

He is survived by: his wife Glenda; his daughters, Sherry, Laurie and Michelle (Thierry); his grandchildren, Tara-Lynn (Shane), Danielle (Alex), Jon-Ryan and Darcy; his great grandchildren, Isaac and Miles; and his siblings, Virginia (Jenny), Joanie and Gary (Flora). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Alzheimer's Society or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
