He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Melvin and Edith Melvin (Lee); his wife Dorothy Wolfe; his son-in-law Brian; and his siblings, Fenwick and Barbara Sampson.

He is survived by: his children, Shirley Wilson and Greg; his grandsons, Scott (Katie) and Michael Wilson (Jessica); and his great grandchildren, Todd, Faith, Clara, Audrey and Lydia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
