He was predeceased by: his parents, W. R. McLaughlin (Ron) and Isobel McLaughlin; and his brothers, Dick and Wayne of Moncton. He is survived by: his wife Shirley McLaughlin; his children, Christopher McLaughlin (Debbie) and Kerry McLaughlin; and his brother Larry of Moncton.
