She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Hicks and Thelma Webber Hicks Pierce; her husband William "Bill" Smith; her son-in-law Brian Langille; and her stepson-in-law Gary MacDonald.

She is survived by: her children, Angela Smith (Paul), Ann Westhaver (Edward) and Adam McInnis (Michelle Anthony); her grandchildren, Jocelyn Covin (Jeremy), Gregory Smith, Kayla Langille (Jeffrey Weagle), Erica Langille (Vernon Schnare), Matthew, Jordan Langille, Isaac, William Westhaver, Kyle McInnis, Connor McInnis (Kelsey Skinner) and Carah McInnis (A. J. Knickle); her great grandchildren, Henry and James Covin; her stepdaughter Anita Smith MacDonald; her stepgrandchildren, Jason MacDonald, Devon MacDonald (Tyler Martin) and Craig MacDonald; and her close friend Solomon. She is also survived by cousins, "sisters", nieces and nephews.
