She was predeceased by: her parents, John Cookson and Irene Cookson; her husband Paul Gerald Simpson; and her siblings, John Cookson (Mary), James Cookson (Barbara), Roy Cookson, Wayne Cookson, June Cowper (Fred), Eileen MacDonald (John) and Dorothy Dacey (James).

She is survived by: her daughters, Joanne Baker (Wyman), Sharon Goss (Wayne) and Paula Simpson (Kevin); and her sister Madeline Kiley.
