He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfons Belie and Maria De Belie (Bellens); his sister Irene Helson (Karel); his former wife Florence (Martin); and his wife Ann Swyers.

He is survived by: his sons, Paul and Steve. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
