He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm Burke and Priscilla Burke (Samson); his wife Helena Lorraine Burke (d'Eon); and his sisters, Audrey MacIntyre (Danny), Doris Surette (Martin) and Norma Stone (Perry).

He is survived by: his son Norman (Karen); his grandsons, Matthew (Katie), Alex (Emma) and Patrick; his son Andrew (Christine); his grandchildren, Nathan, Jordan, Aaron and Caroline; his son Michael (Carmen); and his grandchildren, Ryan and Michaela. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Fighting Blindness Canada, Chalice or to a charity of choice.
