She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Victor Ward and Selena Cunningham (Read); her husband Gordon Gillis; her son Paul; and her brothers, Harold, Jack, Bernard and Conrad.
She is survived by: her children, Tim Gillis (Sara) of Halifax, Anne Gillis of Sydney, Australia, Margot Hossley (Jim) of Coos Bay, Oregon and Jennifer Wazny (Mark) of Ontario; and her grandchildren, Kristina, Alessandra, Nick, Marek and Noah.
