Kevin van Popta wrote a sympathy message

“I am deeply saddened by Jim's passing. I can't imagine a more genuine and heart-warming person to be around. Jim was one of the all time great Canadian Standards Engineers. He was an excellent leader for the CSA code committees and always a fantastic host. I can't think of Halifax without thinking of Jim and I will miss him. I will treasure the last celebratory beer we had with him at the Gahan House the afternoon before his passing. My heartfelt sympathies go out to his family.”

A.J. (Tony) CARREIRA wrote a sympathy message

“It was an unexpected shock to learn during our CSA committee meeting that we had lost Jim. I've known Jim for many years. We have enjoyed some good times together even catching the odd Maple Leafs game when Jim visited Toronto. He was a major contributor to CSA and also the Canadian electrical utility sector, in general. Jim was always ready to help his colleagues address issues & let you know when he didn't agree with a particular proposal or decision. He will be greatly missed. Tony Carreira”

“I was lucky enough to meet Jim through my participation on CSA Standards - he was not only fantastic in facilitating a diverse group of utility perspectives in those cross-Canada-standards meetings, but also wonderful in setting a welcoming, inclusionary tone while onboarding me and many others to the group. He will be missed!”
