He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Trudie (Garber); his daughter Heather; his granddaughter Sammie of Toronto; his daughter Chris of Minckwitz; his grandchildren, Victoria and Wren of Vancouver; his daughter Susan [Tim Kinoshita] of Vancouver; his brother Galen [Marion] Urquhart of Enfield, NS; his nieces and nephews, Tracey, Scott and Rick; his brother Kenneth; his son Alex; his sister-in-law Dr Gayle Garber; his nephews, Matthew of Toronto and David of St Johns; his former wife Marilyn Urquhart of Lakeside, NS; his parents, Alexander Herbert and Olive Muriel [Hutt]; and also, Kevin and Stephen. He was also cherished by mother of his daughters, and a number of relatives.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Remember St. George's Round Church (2222 Brunswick St, Halifax, NS B3K 2Z3).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Saint George's Round Church, Halifax, HMCS Sackville or the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation, or an animal charity of your choice.
